For the past eighteen years, the Memphis-MidSouth Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has worked very hard to build close relationships in our community, by encouraging one another and continuing to move forward one step at a time with our sponsors and friends. Our mission for 2010 is a very urgent and ambitious one, as we plan to exceed all prior years by earning your support and your people to assist us in this very noble goal of raising over 1 million dollars in our community. Our hope is that very soon a “CURE” will be found and that we will be walking to celebrate/remember the close friendships we have found, those friends and family we have lost along the way and the “Survivors” we have assisted as we picked up the pace to find a CURE again on October 30, 2010.

With that thought in mind, we are very proud to continue this tradition by Co-Chairing our 2010 Race for the Cure as a team, leading the 2010 Susan G. Komen Memphis-MidSouth Race for the Cure® to reach as many businesses and friends as possible. What unites us as survivors, co-survivors and friends, will also be what will help us find the many dollars and volunteers needed for our local 2010 Race.

With your gift, you offer the chance for life to many in Shelby, DeSoto, Fayette, Tipton and Tunica counties who continue to rely on us until a cure is found. You can assist us with corporate sponsorships, individual fundraising efforts, team efforts and pocket change that you collect on a daily basis. We will have donation jars at our Race store, located in the beautiful “Carrefour at Kirby Woods,” which opens in October 2010. You will be able to drop all of your loose change into jars, sign up for the Race, and also pick up your individual or team shirts at the same time. Survivors will be able to visit and celebrate with one another as we continue our Race for the Cure.

Our greatest asset in this endeavor is all of you, who join with us every year to celebrate this magnificent journey measured not in miles, but in moments along the way. Memories from the past will inspire you in whatever small way to come back again this year, for the peace of mind that your presence will give to many.

Our event is very well known in the Memphis and surrounding area and will benefit many breast cancer patients and survivors. Please help us by joining today as one of our sponsors or participants, and by encouraging all of your friends, family, employees and customers to join us at our Race on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Together, this is a race we can all win!
