Team Participation

Welcome to the 2010 Race for the Cure Team Challenge!  This year's race will be on Saturday, October 30, 2010.  Join your friends, family, co-workers in the fight against breast cancer! 

Online team registration is NOW OPEN!!  (Please note that paper registration forms will be available in August/September 2010.)

TEAM SPIRIT!!  Many teams have special t-shirts, hats, etc.. to show their spirit for Race for the Cure.  (One rule:  Pink shirts and pink hats are reserved for our survivors.)  Please meet at the stage at 7:30 am on Race Day if you would like your team to be judged for the Team Spirit Award.  We had some really creative teams out there last year!

A few items to note about registration this year:

1)  You can make an additional donation ($10 per name) and have your loved ones recognized on banners at our start and finish lines of the race this year (In Honor Of or In Memory Of).  This can only be done in our online registration.    

2)  Please instruct your team members to forward their registration email to their friends so that they can increase fundraising activity.  Please consider having some incentives for your team to increase fundraising activity on your individual teams. 

3)  There will be fundraising awards for the most dollars raised by team category!  NEW THIS YEAR: we are extending the fundraising to November 15, 2010 5p.  Awards will be determined at this time and the winners will be posted on our website and contacted.  (New team registrations will be accepted through October 15, 2010, but we will continue the fundraising for existing team members through November 15, 2010.)   Pledges can be given by clicking "Support a Team or Participant" and then searching for the participant's name.  (Alternatively, if people use "personal pages", you can click "Support (Name)" button on their personal page to make a donation.)

4)  There is an early registration discount in effect until September 30, 2010 where you can get a $5 discount for registering early. 

5)  The cutoff for Team registrations is October 15, 2010, as we will begin packaging team t-shirts the following week.  (Team members registered by October 15th can continue to participate in online fundraising through November 15, 2010!)  If someone on your team missed the October 15th team registration deadline, you can instruct them that they can register as an individual after that time up through Friday, October 29th, 9p.  The later registering team members t-shirts will need to be picked up separately.  T shirts for teams with 5 or more people will be packed together and available at our Teams Pick Up in our Race Store.  Teams of less than 5 will be available at our Individual Pick Up tables in our Race Store. 

6)  If you need to register offline for some reason, please download the Team Reconciliation Spreadsheet attached above.  This will need to be filled out and turned in with your manual registrations.

7)  Personal pages can be set up (you must first register to set up a personal page) to upload pictures of survivors you know, monitor your fundraising progress, and tell your friends and colleagues who support you why you are dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.  You can also set up a Team Page to promote your team's activity.
